2004 – 2005
Season Review
After a season which started with much promise it ended with our 1st team finishing 6th in the Premier division and going out in the last sixteen of Cuppers. This was a disappointment as we could have challenged more on both fronts than we did with the players we had. This coming season the firsts will be looking to build on this position and hopefully achieve honours in the league and cup. Of those who played last season many are leaving or taking a year abroad, so a number of places will have to be filled by fresh new talent.
As well as the first team, there is the cunningly named ‘second team’ and the ‘Animals’. Both the ‘Animals’ and the ‘seconds’, who achieved promotion last season , pride themselves on a strong team spirit and the ideal that anyone can play (and come for an after match pint). With all talents being catered for, I look forward to seeing many eager first years attending pre-season training, which will be during Freshers Week, and at the football socials throughout the term.
